Phil Baker is a partner with Baker, Keener & Nahra. Throughout the over twenty years of his legal career, Phil has successfully brought numerous cases to trial, with disputes that include commercial and business litigation, legal malpractice, personal injury, and product liability while representing a diverse range of clients that include product manufacturers, law firms, corporate and governmental entities.
While initially representing defendants in litigation, his practice has evolved into handling both defense and plaintiffs actions. He has tried more than fifty jury trials and arbitrations and in 2014 obtained the largest plaintiff’s verdict in the history of Kings County, $128.6 million, on behalf of his client.
As a past president of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, Phil has dedicated himself to the legal community and its continuing efforts to improve and further the civil justice process. In addition to his trial practice, Phil has spoken on numerous occasions for the Consumers Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Association of Southern Defense Counsel, Judicial Conferences and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
