Derrick S. Lowe
Raised in his hometown of Vallejo, California, Derrick Lowe is an associate with the firm. While at Baker, Keener & Nahra, Derrick has successfully represented numerous clients in the areas of commercial and business litigation, professional liability for both legal and medical professionals, and product liability. He concentrates his practice in case analysis and investigation and law and motion, where he has obtained favorable results ranging from anti-SLAPP rulings to dismissals on summary judgment. Prior to joining Baker, Keener & Nahra, Derrick served as a law clerk with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and was selected to take part in the American Board of Trial Advocates’ fellowship program in 2009.
Before entering the legal profession, Derrick worked as a professional pianist in Santa Barbara, a role he continues in to this day as music director for a local church service and as a freelance musician. Here in Los Angeles, Derrick currently serves as the accompanist for Legal Voices, the choral component of the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic (which is often hailed — much to the chagrin of anti-pun enthusiasts everywhere — as Los Angeles’ only “legal” orchestra), which featured him on piano in 2013 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, performing Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy.
